Misfits of Film's Mission
We love movies.
We love watching movies in the theater, at the drive-in or on TV. We love talking about movies and picking through the five dollar bin at the box store for them. We rummage through stacks of DVD's at flea markets for the best deals, and we love making movies. However, we don't use the term "film" as we don't shoot on film we make MOVING PICTURES.
Sadly, sometimes people don't get our movies.
Past judges' comments include "This must be a lot of fun for you and your friends to make but difficult for the rest of us to understand - A well made movie." and "Huh?"
Discouraged we even contemplated not making movies settling on woodworking and molding ceramic bunnies. Neither were satisfactory as we realize we have stories to tell and movies to make.
A good friend encouraged us to embrace our style. So our movies are rough edged, quirky, with uneven acting, inconsistent audio, (but the lighting is always great) and are made by movie makers who have morning breath and stinky feet.
Our movies contain hidden gems, tributes to other films, interesting twists and are a lot of fun to make and watch. We know true movie aficionados will find and recognize the surprises present in our movies. Those viewers who slump in their convertible loungers with six packs hoping the flickering light will lure them in a stupor are better off watching reality TV shows or reruns.
We acknowledge that a measure of success is what others say about our movies so we will continue to enter our movies into select festivals. After the festival run is completed we will make each movie easily accessible on an on-line platform.
